Look, up in the sky! It's a bird! It's a plane! No, it's the latest episode of
Cinematic Universe, the comic book movie podcast from
FilmDivider.com, featuring Seb and James from PanelBeats alongside host Joe Cunningham.
Apologies for the belated post, but if you haven't caught it yet, don't forget to check out our latest
Cinematic Universe podcast - in association with
FilmDivider.com - in which we discuss "visionary" director Zack Snyder's 2009 adaptation of
Watchmen.
In the latest episode of the comic book movie podcast, in association with
FilmDivider.com, PanelBeats editors Seb and James join host Joe Cunningham to try and discover if there's any merit in the 2009 disastro-flop
X-Men Origins: Wolverine, and recommend some associated reading along the way.
The comic book movie podcast, now produced in association with
Film Divider, gets all televisual, as Panel Beats editors Seb and James join host Joe Cunningham to discuss Marvel's
Agent Carter miniseries, and recommend some comics that may or may not actually have Peggy Carter in them.
(Spoilers: they don't.)
The Cinematic Universe podcast lands on the MCU for the first time, with the groundbreaking 2008 film
Iron Man. Seb and James of this here parish join movie buff Joe Cunningham to discuss the film and also recommend some background reading from the comics.
Our new fortnightly podcast, in which PanelBeats editors James and Seb discuss comic book movies with Film4's Joe Cunningham, reaches its landmark second episode!
There may be as many as
four Panel Beats readers who've been wondering what's happened to our podcasting arm since we last put out an episode of the Alternate Cover pod in (checks) cor, blimey, May of last year. Well, various circumstances conspired to mean that we had to put having regular recorded chats about comics on the back burner: and then an entirely new burner came along and offered us the opportunity to talk about movies instead, so that's what we did. This, then, is
Cinematic Universe.
It's the end of an era, as Alternate Cover co-host Rhys has left these shores to go and live in the land of Alpha Flight, Scott Pilgrim and the word "aboot". To celebrate... sorry,
commemorate his departure, we recorded a special "Point Canada" farewell episode before he got on his plane, which we are releasing to your ear-holes now that he's safely out of the country.
Seb, James and Rhys are back once again, and as summer crossover season approaches, we're taking the tried-and-tested comics method of teasing the future death of a cast member. But which one of the Alternate Cover gang will shortly be leaving for pastures new? Find out at the end of the episode.
If you don't already know James and I from our existing comics site
Alternate Cover, then you may not be aware that we publish a (usually) monthly podcast under the same name. And if you're not, then this is the perfect time to get yourself acquainted with it.
