Cinematic Universe Episode 1: Daredevil (2003)
There may be as many as four Panel Beats readers who've been wondering what's happened to our podcasting arm since we last put out an episode of the Alternate Cover pod in (checks) cor, blimey, May of last year. Well, various circumstances conspired to mean that we had to put having regular recorded chats about comics on the back burner: and then an entirely new burner came along and offered us the opportunity to talk about movies instead, so that's what we did. This, then, is Cinematic Universe.

It's a new fortnightly podcast hosted by our chum Joe Cunningham of Film4.com. Joe's a film guy who doesn't really know the comics, so James and I are on hand to help fill him in on the necessary background and give him reading tips. Each episode, the three of us will discuss and review a different comics-based film or TV show (sometimes recent, sometimes older) as well as doing a roundup of the latest genre news.

You can hear our first episode, in which we take on the 2003 Ben Affleck-starring adaptation of Daredevil, right here:

Alternatively, you can find the pod at Libsyn, and subscribe directly with the RSS feed. We'll have an iTunes link shortly as well, which we'll update with as the time comes.

Finally, here are the links to the Recommended Reading discussed towards the end of the pod, if you want to dig in to some movie-relevant Daredevil comics yourself:

James' Pick: Guardian Devil by Kevin Smith and Joe Quesada
Comixology (Digital) / Amazon (Print)

Seb's Pick: The Man Without Fear by Frank Miller and John Romita Jr.
Comixology (Digital) / Amazon (Print)

Hope you enjoy, and any and all feedback is of course extremely welcome. Aside from the nasty kind.
